Gallagher's is one of my all-time fave steak houses in this beautiful U.S. of A. that we live in. My last experience was less then subpar but Brisa and Shepard from Gallagher's wanted to make it right and invited us back as their special guests to ensure everything was to our liking. We were first greeted by Jocelyn at the front desk and she walked us over to our table. She was very kind. John our server came by to greet us and filled us in on the daily special and took our drink order. Rafael was on it as well, he came by to make sure our waters were filled and cleaned up any remnants that we left on the table from the bread crumbs. The bread there is phenomenal. I try not to eat bread but when I do I will eat it at Gallagher's.
We started with the Shrimp and Grits appetizer. If there is one appetizer you order and you like shrimp, then this is the appetizer for you. The shrimp is succulent and cooked perfectly. We then moved on to salads. I had to go with the beet salad. Beets are great for the liver and the beets are roasted to perfection and they do not skimp on the beets. Wife loves the hearts of palm salad there. Then on to the steaks. The NY aged steaks are the way to go. I ordered mine medium-rare and it was cooked just the way I like it. The prices of the steaks are not that expensive when compared to the plethora of steak houses around Vegas. It seems like every hotel has their own signature steak house and they offer pretty much the same thing but the thing that sets Gallagher's apart is the nostalgia and that piece of NYC you would only find there.
The sides were amazing! The asparagus were about the size of bananas. Talk about asparagus on steroids. They were pumped up. I also ordered the chipotle cheesy Yukon gold mashed potatoes. I didn't want to share them with my wife. At first I told her they were the worst thing I ever tasted but she knew I was lying because my nose grew and I had a huge smile on my face after trying them. Do yourself a favor and order a side of mushrooms as well.
Through the years Gallagher's has been a regular in our rotation when visiting Vegas. We always receive top notch service and the food never leaves us in doubt. All of the employees are wonderful. I wish we could eat there more often but it's great to have it as a special place for us to visit. If you are in the area just stop by and try something. You will not be disappointed and if you are I am sure they will make it right. Thanks again to the staff at Gallagher's and to Brisa and Shepard for making sure the meal was to our liking. It was nice to also see Roxanna who goes around to take photos. She took our photo 10 years ago after we had a post wedding dinner party there. We decided to go with another round of photos and told her we would see her in another 10 years. And thanks again to John for wonderful service. Happy eating!
