| - What an amazing experience my puppy and I had at this clinic!!
Came to Yelp in search of an affordable place to get my puppy neutered as our regular vet said it would be around $450 at their animal hospital which was a bit too much for me to pay at this time. Came across this location and decided to give it a try. Came by a few weeks ago to check the place out and to set the appointment. The clinic is in a small shopping strip on 28th at the corner of Cactus.
The lady at the front desk was on the phone when I came in, so I waited patiently for her to finish. She politely said she was sorry for making me wait and then asked what I needed. Told her I needed to make an appointment to get my puppy neutered and she set up the appointment within a few minutes. Just took my name, phone number, and my puppy's information. Didn't give me any info on when to stop feeding or giving him water the night before, which to me was a bit strange, but maybe she had other things on her mind. Good thing my puppy has his last meal around 4 pm.
Arrived at my appointment yesterday around 6:30 am since the receptionist said to drop him off between 6:45-7. I always like to arrive early for appointments. Once the clinic opened up, you sign in with your name, animal's name, and what you're there for. They give you a sheet of paper to fill in with all your information as well as the information for your pet that they need. Note: When you set up an appointment, it isn't like you're setting up an exact time. It's just for a set day. They ask you to bring in your pet at a certain time and then give you an estimated time when you will come back to pick them up. This may be different if you're just coming in for a shot and not a surgery.
Animals are called back in the order that you signed in. There were about 5 pets ahead of Leo when I was there to drop him off, but he was called back super quickly. They weigh him and took his vitals, asked if I had any questions and then took him to the back. Told me if I didn't get a call from them to be there between 4-5 pm to pick him up. They called me just before 2 pm to let me know that Leo was ready to be picked up and that the surgery went very well. When I got to the clinic, I paid and they brought my happy boy out. He was very alert and so happy to see me. I definitely didn't expect him to have so much energy after his procedure. The receptionist went over a sheet of paper for care for my puppy before I left and gave me his pain meds for the next three days. Once I got home, I checked out his incision and it looked great! Also, they made a tiny cut which looks more like a little scratch than an incision. They took such good care to make sure he wouldn't have a large scar. I really doubt he'll have anything visible once he is totally healed. Thank you!
The people that work here are ALL very nice and professional. They seemed to care about the pets that were in their care. The vet came and talked with me some before I dropped Leo off and I was so impressed with how nice and caring he was with my puppy. Would definitely come back here again when the need calls for it.
The cost was as follows:
Neutering $64 (40 lbs and under)
Pain meds $15 (3 days worth to take home)
Neck cone $11 (You can bring your own if you want)
So $90 was so much better than paying $450+ at my normal vet.
Recommend this clinic to anyone needing care for their puppy or cat. Thank you for providing excellent care and service to my Leo.
