  • When it comes to ribs, Sauceman's is the best place in Charlotte. Midwood and Mac's are the bigger players in town, but Sauceman's is solid. My first choice when it comes to pork ribs. I stopped by late one evening for takeout, they close promptly at 6, and requested two racks of ribs. It was near six and was told they were out of ribs. The manager could tell how disappointed I was and asked me how much time I had. I told him I would be happy to wait, and he proceeded to keep the grill fired up so I could go home happy. It was well past six when I left. It's a small restaurant and small lot, but don't let that deter you. There's big flavor to look forward to once you get inside.
