| - I first saw this place maybe 3 years ago driving home from Avon where I work. That is always at 6 am. Despite the constantly lit OPEN sign, I figured there's no way stoners get to work before noon. I always need incense. Like always. I don't even smoke pot. But I'm an old hippie and I like having some when I party in the basement. In those 3 years the wife has been picking up incense for me at Five Below, or I make the rare trip to Daystar during their three hours of operation. This particular Saturday found me awake at 6 pm with nothing to do. So I finally, finally hauled the Kia down Lorain to check out this smoker's delight.
Warning: boring paragraph about my incense buying habits up ahead. You may want to open another window and watch a cat video. The incense selection was pretty sparse. Mostly Wildberry(the brand Five Below stocks that never burns right and you have to throw half the sticks away). But I did find a scent, baked brownies, that has a special place in my heart. I first bought some choco chip cookie incense out in Oberlin about 15 years ago. It was amazing. Since then, baked goods scents are hard to come by. Try the internet, stupid, you say. Yeah, I could. But between stealing music and perusing nude ladies, that kind of shit never dawns on me. I'm a really bad internet shopper. I think I've maybe bought a handful of things off Amazon. I was a huge Ebayer back in the day, but since the dawn of identity theft my net shopping has been almost nothing. Wow. I sound older as this review goes on.
Anyhow, got my smelly stuff and a sweet David Bowie poster to hang in my kitchen(which is UK pub themed). 2nd warning: boring poster paragraph ahead. I used to have tons of posters when I was 20. Marley, Bruce Lee, Dali, etc. Typical head shop shit. Which incidentally were all readily in stock here. But I trashed those years ago as I became a tax paying old crank. Now however, I seek out select images to fit into my adult design schemes. And you just don't find much Bowie stuff. Again you say, check the internet. Well, that could apply to about 95% of all commerce and we wouldn't even have stores or Yelp so shut up. Excuse me if I enjoy the actual physical task of shopping in reality.
Other than those finds, the whole place is pipes. Hardcore pipes. Which I know nothing about. Places like Daystar and Puff n Stuff have a lot more curios, shirts, gift items. This place is all about the, ahem, tobacco. So if that's what you need, you're in luck. So, it was nice to finally stop in. Nice folks, cool space for an underserved stretch of road.
