| - Recently my wife and I, along with some friends, stayed at the Gold Coast Hotel and Casino on Flamingo (See my detailed review). My buddy asked a local to recommend a good Italian restaurant. Without hesitation, Nora's was the choice. Since it was only a couple miles west on Flamingo we decided to give it a try. We were not disappointed.
Our party of five arrived at 4:30 on a Friday and the place was already busy. However they were able to seat us in about five minutes. Great start. The server, whose name I wish I could remember, was wonderfully friendly. In fact, every one who worked there had a wonderful disposition while hustling to provide great service. We were very impressed.
The dishes ordered by us included two dishes of spaghetti with marinara, one with sliced Italian sausage, Linguini and Clams (clams both in the shell and mixed in with the pasta), Spinach Cannelloni (my choice), and cheese tortellini with marinara. We also ordered a house salad served family style which was wonderful. There is also strips of garlic bread served with dinner.
All the dishes were raved about. The servings were large without being ridiculous. My wife only was able to eat half of the Linguini and Clams, but since our hotel room had a mini-fridge she was able to take it back for a late-night snack. My Spinach Cannelloni has (of course) spinach, fresh pasta, ricotta cheese, mozzarella, covered in a tomato sauce. I was a little nervous about the tomato sauce but I needn't be. It has a wonderful flavor that complemented the stuffed cannelloni. Delicious!
Next trip to Vegas we will be back. Without a doubt one of the best meals we've had in the city in our many years of coming. Prices are also very reasonable for what you get. Great food, great service, great dining experience!
