| - This review is for the take out service only. I've eaten at Honey Salt several times and the service and food have always been stellar; unfortunately that cannot be the same of take out service.
When you pay over $60 for food to go, is it too much to ask to have someone greet you when you walk in? Usually, the bar takes care of to-go orders. There was a bartender there who made eye contact with me, and continued speaking to the one person sitting at the bar. The person seating customers takes me to the end of the bar and tries to get the bartender to ring me up, and the guy literally put his hands up in the air implying, "I'm not doing it." He motioned over to some girl sitting behind the bar having her dinner with another employee. Without even looking up from her dinner, she said, "Just use my number and ring her up." The warm, welcoming feel I usually get from the restaurant was nonexistent.
I probably would not even be writing this review had it not been for what I discovered once I got home. I specially ordered the Brown Paper Bag Apple Pie for the Salted Caramel Ice Cream, and was UNBELIEVABLY disappointed to find out that we were given plain, boring vanilla.
That coupled with the fact that I have received better service at Outback just did it for me. I've have taken several friends to Honey Salt, and recommend it to anyone I know who wants to try a new place. That won't be happening anymore because this experience did it for me. $60 for take out, and no one even wanted to take the time to ring me up which would have taken 3 minutes out of their lives. Pathetic!
