| - As a band tour manager I book a lot of group blocks with Marriott year round, and usually have great experiences with this chain and it's staff.
This particular one looks nice, is reasonably priced for the area, but it's management belongs in a motel 6.
The front desk was assigning rooms randomly, as opposed to beginning from the top of my list (artists first, then crew etc), when I asked them to adhere to my list, they hemmed and hawed, then rolled eyes and complied.
My group of 13 arrived around 10 am, and understandably, only 5 rooms were available. However, with an 11 am check out you would expect the remaining rooms to be reasonably quick. Not here.
The last of my guests were checked in at 2 PM, 3 hrs after the rooms were vacated, after 4 hrs of waiting in the lobby.
When I inquired with the manager about the length of the wait, he told me he had to balance cleaning the vacated rooms with cleaning rooms of guests already staying in the hotel. He also said that if I wanted to stay in a "certain area" I would have to take waiting times into consideration.
I responded by saying that I booked us at the airport because it was CHEAP, not because it was a prestigious area.
Questionable attitude, priorities, and managing skills.
I will not return here.
