  • I always used to be nervous picking a specialty service like this out of the Yellow Pages. Now, thanks to sites like Yelp out there to keep the world on the straight and narrow, you can do so with a greater degree of confidence, but when your PC crashes, it's still a terrifying proposition. I called Doctors of Technology, based on a few great online reviews (it may have been Google or yellowpages reviews, I cannot recall), and they directed me to their Sunset and Eastern location. I was positive it was a crash, and I would have been grateful if they were just able to recover the information on my hard drive. I asked how long it would take, and they nonchalantly told me that it's usually less than 24hrs. That was impressive, though I though a bit optimistic. Lo and behold, I get a call later on that same day, letting me know it was 100% operational. I was amazed. Same day service, and the best part....it was only $99.! I could not have been happier, especially since I was facing the expense of buying a new laptop, AND losing 2 year's work. (Yes, I've since switched to an external drive, and back up regularly now. That was too scary to risk again.) In any case, these guys really know their stuff.
