| - This place is one of the WORST retail experiences I've ever encountered. Where to start?
I booked an appointment at 9:30 am to get my winter tires installed. I needed to purchase two new tires, and they told me that they had two tires available for $90 each, and they would be set aside for me. I decided to wait it out and explore the 'hood (not much to explore), but before I left, I asked the guy if he could put my old tires in plastic bags. "Well, I'm going to have to charge you for the bags". WTF? I explained to him that I was about to drop $375 in his store for tires and service, and that I thought charging people for plastic bags was really moochy. Everyone in the waiting room agreed with me, and he offered to waive the fee. How nice of him.
I returned to the shop at 11:30 to pick up my car, but it was still on the hoist with all 4 wheels removed. Worst of all, the guy says "listen, we don't have any of those $90 tires for you, but we CAN get you into some Michelins for $220 each." Seriously? Classic bait and switch. I told them not to bother, just put my wheels back on and I'll be on my way. Of course, they did charge me for a 'service', and although it didn't amount to much (under $30?) they really did nothing to earn it. Total time for the 'service'? Around 3.5 hours.
Fast forward to 10 days later. I get out of my car and take a look at my tires. It turns out that they HAD installed my two winter tires...on the front end of my rear-wheel drive BMW. (Any tire shop will tell you that this is a big mistake.) The bottom line: avoid this tire shop - there are MUCH better ones out there!
