This is a nicely decorated store that bills itself as a sophisticated American import but is still very much "The Bay" in a luxury brand's clothing. The cosmetics floor is impressive but the upper floors have none of the excitement and innovation of Nordstrom, the answer to which this place vies to be. A huge clearance rack of shoes on the second floor feels like something found in a Saks' outlet store rather than a downtown retail flagship. The service is scarce, indifferent and slow. The reps who are around are on their phones, looking down into a computer or are talking to one another. "Why am I paying a premium for this?", one rightly asks oneself here. On a Sunday after Black Friday the place is dead. Sign of dark things to come?
