| - I went to The Beer Market a few weeks ago before attending a Pirates game. It is directly across the street from the stadium, so the happy hour crowd built quickly on that Friday afternoon.
As their name denotes, they sell beer. Actually, beer is all that they sell, and they sell a lot of it. They have a huge draft list, and an even larger bottle list. I had several different wheat and German beers before heading into the game. Our waitress was attentive, even when our circle of 3 grew to 12, she kept everyone's glass full.
The Beer Market likes to keep things simple, they only sell BEER. They do not sell food, but never fear, you can bring food in, or order delivery from some of the other local establishments. On the summer night that I was there, a lot of food trucks lined the street outside of the stadium. I wasn't hungry at that point, but after seeing the selections inside the stadium, I realized that I should have taken advantage of The Beer Market's BYOF policy.
Great place. If I lived in Pittsburgh I would visit often.
