Awww yeeeeeahhh. Korean restaurant in Squirrel Hill!
Had the soondooboo here twice. First time: LOVED IT. Second time: stone bowl wasn't very hot and my soup was almost cold before 3-4 bites. :(
Not nearly enough banchan (side dishes). I think they only come with very select dishes. The whole reason for me to ever go to a Korean restaurant is because of the side dishes--you're supposed to have the variety that you wouldn't always have the time + energy to make at home.
Servers were very earnest, but obviously nervous and inexperienced. Very slow and unintentionally inattentive.
Food takes awhile to arrive as well. I think this may be due possibly kitchen staff adjusting to the timing of everything.
The dduk mandoo gook: lovely and authentic. Handmade dumplings with super fresh ingredients. Very comforting.
I'm going to wait awhile until my next visit, and hopefully they'll get into the swing of things! I've heard rumors of a potential noraebang opening up. If they're true, I AM STOKED.
