I was really looking forward to eating here. We went on Saturday night, 01/06/18. What a huge disappointment! I ordered the President's platter of mini items. The only thing edible was one miniature taco. Never in my life have I had a green corn tamale that I didn't like...until Ponchos! I can't even describe the taste other than to say it was NOTHING like a green corn tamale. The chimis were way over fried. The filling was disgusting....tasted like red chili powder. The "chunky" salsa was gross and I had to request it twice before knowing how bad it was. Maybe they can fool white folks, but this Latina wasn't happy. My roommate ordered the fajitas. No sizzling platter. The beef was obviously overcooked as were the peppers and onions....and it all tasted like teriyaki sauce...WAIT...where am I? Oh yeah, in a MEXICAN food restaurant, not an Asian restaurant. The rice and beans were good! I was praying the waitress would not utter the words, "did you like your food", but alas she did! My roommate immediately said "no", and this is a man who rarely complains. At least they did not charge for my meal. None the less, I will never step foot in Ponchos again! The food at Federico's on 35th Ave and Baseline is a 1000% better.
