  • So I am a huge Italian food fan and have even been to Italy for a long period of time. I made reservations for this place at 5:30pm on a Tuesday to make sure we got a table. Once we arrived, they sat us at a tiny table facing the stage. I didn't care for whoever was performing because he kept talking to a guest he knew anyways. And I really didn't appreciate the tiny table when there were other open ones. Anyway, our waiter took awhile to get to us. Once he came to us, we started with the Calamari ($14). It was really really good. Probably the best thing in this place. I like that it wasn't overcooked and wasn't overly flavored. It's a must get here. For dinner, I went with their Eggplant Di Amore and the person I came with ordered a side of Pesto Pasta and a side of their Gypsy Pasta to try both. After we ordered the complementary bread and butter came. It was a long warm baguette that had been cut up. It was decent. My Eggplant Di Amore ($26) can be described as an eggplant lasagna. It was fresh breaded eggplant with ricotta, mushrooms, spinach, sun dried tomatoes, and topped with Parmigiano Reeggiano and Mozzarella Cheese. The entire thing was baked just like a lasagna and served with a large portion of Spaghetti. I thought the entire dish was alright. I didn't see much ricotta at all. I thought it was a little dry and was more on the salty side. The spaghetti that I had one bite of I could have done without. I got to try the pastas that the person I came with ordered. The Pesto Pasta was pretty good. The Gypsy, which is basically their popular spicy marinara pasta was also pretty good but nothing crazy. The total was $60. Nothing there wowed us besides their calmari. And the service definitely did not wow us. The food took forever to come out and so did the bill and take home container. The waiter didn't really made any good recommendations. It was like he was just kinda there to do his work and quickly go home. The inside of this place is small so probably why the long waits on the weekends. There is the dining room and a bar area in the back. The inside looked like a dive bar with booths to be honest. There were a lot of locals there. Mostly elderly people. There was an annoying large group there to celebrate one of their son's birthdays. One of the guys from the party knew the guy singing so they kept talking like I mentioned earlier. The rest of his party also kept getting up. They kept getting in the way when people were trying to use their bathroom. No crowd control? If this is Vegas top Italian spot, I feel bad. Not sure I'll be back.
