  • We pulled into the Windemere around 12:30 am after 7 hours on the road. At night this place was awful! (we didn't stay around long enough to see the light of day). I found this hotel to be absolutely disgusting! It looked like they took the old furniture from in the rooms and repurposed it as patio furniture, pretty gross but not a deal breaker. The front staff was not helpful. I was actually afraid to ask to move rooms in fear he would be upset. Upon entering our room the first thing we noticed was the stench, it smelled like 20 year old cigarette buts mixed with old urine and dirty laundry. It was foul. The cabinet that held the tv (which was a tiny old tube) had drawers which contained old pet food. Why on earth anyone kept their pet food in there is beyond me. Inside the bathroom there were small pieces of hair everywhere and stuck on dirt that looked like it had been there for years. Needless to say we checked out immediately and booked it to the marriott!!!! Thank god there were vacancies or we would have been trapped in that old stinky hotel. By the way, the marriott in mesa is really nice!! =)
