If you select Orthocarolina for your medical care, BUYER BEWARE! After an initial misdiagnosis, I underwent 3 mos of PT with no improvement. Then they changed the diagnosis, and recommended surgery for frozen shoulder. The care I received was adequate but the caveat is they are not forthcoming about costs. I have full coverage medical insurance through my employer for which I pay handsomely. Every visit to PT (before my deductible was met) cost me around $50. The surgery center was an upfront payment of roughly $800. Then came the surgeon's bill for another $750. Today, I received a bill for $2000 for use of an in-home mechanical chair that I had in my home for 2 months (insurer paid their $3K part of the bill and I'm stuck with the balance) that was ordered for me by my surgeon. $5K for 60 days use of a chair with a couple of servo motors in it! For that price, I should own the flippin' chair. Of course, I expected to have to pay my co-insurance but I had no idea it was going to be THIS expensive. So to date, I've spent over $4k out of pocket for what was an outpatient surgery. As I said, the care was adequate, but I'm convinced at this point that they are deliberately opaque concerning costs and that they will lead you down the most expensive route possible without providing other, less costly options.
