| - Animal house. Noise. ALL NIGHT. Rooms are about like staying in a dorm, but a nice dorm. But I'm on the 12th floor, it's 3am and for 4 straight hours it's been pounding drums outside and screaming. It's a ZOO. I knew it was going to be bad when there were earplugs on the desk when I checked in.
If you're going to build a hotel on top of all these outdoor bars and concert venues, INVEST IN SOUND PROOF WINDOWS.
I wanted to give it three stars, because of the location but other drawbacks are that they refuse to let food delivery up to deliver to your room, the elevators are crazy crazy slow, and the cleaning staff wake you up in the morning by talking loudly in the hallway.
I downgraded it to one star because after being kept up all night by the crazy outdoor partying til 4am, I am woken up at 6:45 by the noisy children in room 1207 singing, yelling, whining, crying, and messing with the adjoining door....and I called the front desk and they refused to ask them to be quiet. I guess just because I don't have children I don't deserve to have the restful sleep
I deserve???
I only stayed here for work and it really was great at first because we previous were at a really disgusting place that was far out of town. I wouldn't mind visiting Charlotte again, it's cool...but I would never ever stay at the Aloft again. Not this or any other if management doesn't even care enough to ask that people be respectful and not allow their kids to make noise early in the morning.
