| - My feeling is: go big or, go home. We splurged and purchased the Diamond Tour. Let me start by saying, you get what you pay for! Wow. This was a VERY intimate look into the life of a Vegas icon.
Learning of Wayne Newton's absolute passion and commitment to Arabian horses, one of the highlights was Robin's fascinating stable tour, meeting the horses up close, and her thoroughly engaging oral history. I have a new found appreciation for Arabians!
Seeing the first home Wayne had built for himself and his family was like walking into a time capsule from the 60's & 70's. You feel as though the family had simply stepped out for awhile and would be back any moment.
Viewing the ENTIRE main mansion was pretty incredible. Gotta say, the whimsical mine shaft wine cellar was a nice addition!
Strolling through WN's private jet was way cool.
The birds, penguins, wallabies and Gavin's Boo were delightful. These creatures are well cared for, loved and have a wonderful home.
Cars, costumes and memorabilia - this is beyond complete! A full look into the world of Wayne Newton.
Do a little research on Wayne before you take the tour. The tour does NOT speak to any past or present litigation regarding Wayne Newton or his estate. Nor should it. However, there is an overarching sadness that the man who created this world is now a mere player in its existence. Right or wrong, Mr. Newton has his entire life on display. For our Service men and women as well as the animals he obviously cares so deeply for, it is hard to argue that Wayne is not a generous man with both his time and talent.
I would highly recommend this tour for Wayne Newton fans, Vegas nostalgists, equestrian enthusiasts, and anyone wanting a look into the lifestyle considerable wealth can bring. The tour brings up as many questions as it answers. The opening video, screened in an immaculate theater, is a fantastic foundation for the tour.
