  • This is an important place to know about. This shop has been in business in Calgary for many many years and is a Calgary institution. This "new" location (they have been here for a few years now, is large bright and clean. It is the one of the few places in the city that I will buy meat from. The front counter is filled with classic and fresh cuts of the more common beef, pork and chicken, but literally any special requests can be handled by the team of expert meat cutters always working hard on customers special orders of cubed this, butterflied that and whatever those special recipes call for. The products are all from Southern Alberta and are typically raised in a bit less industrialized environments than the mass feed lots and enormous abattoirs that produce the product for half of North America (not naming any names) but the product here is different and you can taste it. The product is simply superior to what you get at any supermarket chain, and the service is great on top of that. There is also duck , bison, veal including osso bucco in the freezers. Fresh free range turkeys should be ordered in advance for those turkey holidays to avoid disappointment. This is well run business of the old school, and being located in the Stadium shopping centre that now also has Billingsgate seafood and a Cobs bakery, it makes for a convenient shopping stop. Add a green grocer and we're set. Oh yeah! I forgot to mention Bon Ton Meat Pies !!!
