| - Age plays a huge role here...
The place we'll say it's "funners" for heaven sake they have POOL games!
My 21 year old niece wanted to go to Vegas. I was shocked with the 16 year difference that she wanted to party it up with her 'TT'. I must be the "funners" Auntie. ha ha so I allowed her to pick the hotel and this was her pick. It's new and hip so of course I expected something along this line.
The entrance is in the back. I suppose if you enter from the strip through the Flamingo you can figure it out somehow to cross over. But from what I saw no off strip entry. So just pass the hotel up and turn on the next corner and go to the back of the place to enter.
The check in is different. There are no automatic doors or a doorman, so expect to open your own door while lugging your luggage in. There is a kiosk to check in. That is the first thing you see. So If you don't keep walking then you will totally miss out on the real person to person contact of a normal front desk. I typically like to make contact because I like to ask for an upgrade. But let me tell you, here they don't care. I was politely told upgrade will cost more money. Come on really? I was checking in on a weekday. (for those of you saying duh upgrades cost, if you stay at larger properties, they will upgrade you to a suite for FREE as long as it is available)
Now when in Vegas I typically like a little room service for those late night stumble ins, a room on the 30th floor or higher, with a fab strip view, a tub in case I need to soak my feet from all the walking and a fluffy posh bed.
Well here all the things I typically like are not available. The hotel does not offer room service, it's only 15 floors so and where it is situated if you did request the strip view I think you will literally only see Las Vegas Blvd STREET and not a full Strip view. I opted for the High Roller view, which is the view of the High Roller attraction. It was pretty cool because when we would creep in at 5 am each night we could see the really sun come up over the mountains.
What...is that a wall unit and NOT central air? ohhh okay, yeah it's a wall AC. But it worked very well. I haven't seen one of those in a very long time. But the room was always comfortable, so of course that was a super plus.
There is a refrigerator which even some high end hotels lack. That was certainly a nice plus.
The beds were comfy. But warning, these beds are NOT queen size. They are TRULY a double. The size was perfect for me. So depending on your size, sharing might not be an option. They DO specify some rooms that are queen, and they even have a neat bunk bed room if that's what you're into.
There is no bathtub. Not even a tub shower combo. Not having a combo didn't bother me since I'm freaked out by tub shower combo (I know weird). But I do like having a bathtub to soak my sore feet. There were the typical soap dispensers in the shower, but I can't tell you the quality of the soap because they stayed empty our entire stay.
My towel had a hole in it. Sure you say just ask for another towel. Well there should NOT have been a huge whole in the towel to start. It wasn't a tiny hole at all.
The pool here is 21 and older. Not sure what people do with kids, I assume they are allowed to use the pool next door at the Flamingo. I didn't inquire because I wasn't there with kids. It was fun because they had pool jenga, beer pong and some other toys to play with. And yes this pool closes around 6 like other Vegas pools.
I say if you are use to high end hotels but need a budget hotel with more pizzazz. and cleanliness than a Motel then this is your place. It's clean, comfy, and looks modern and has a GREAT strip location. You also have a full courtyard of stuff to do right outside the hotel.
Special note: The Uber pickup is to the back, as it seems with the majority of the Vegas hotels. Please know the Uber prices are insane in Las Vegas. They are SO friggin CHEAP!
It was fun living it up as a 21 year old again. At 21 I would have said daaaaannnng da Linq da bomb. I am 37 so I know btter now... lol
