  • I went into autonation toyota tempe to order a new 2016 tacoma. I had my options and packages and whatnot already picked out, so it should have been a fairly painless, easy experience all around. I went in, worked with Brittaney Lischinski, and picked the options. I was then approached by the Manager Derrick Gay to begin talking about numbers. Eventually, he gave me a signed offer in the amount of $31739.20 (MSRP on the truck is $35,180). This was a fantastic deal, and I asked them to order the truck. I also inquired about a financing option offered through Toyota for all of their leases, a multiple-security-deposit (which lowers your "money factor", or lease interest rate, for putting down a larger security deposit). They told me that they would work to make sure that the option would be available to me. 5 weeks later, I was told that the truck was about a month out still, so I had more time to sell my car (which they refused to take as a trade-in). I asked if I could come in to get the financing figured out ahead of time (because I figured they had forgotten about the multiple-security-deposits). I was told to wait. The next week, the truck arrived at the dealership. I was given a 1-week hold on the truck as a 'courtesy' in order to sell my car and then come in to buy it. Of course they wanted me to sell my car and then show up with a stack of cash and no other options! I again asked to work out the financing... to which the next manager, Jesse Gray, was working on pricing out at $34,712.20, ALMOST $3000 MORE than the signed offer I had from a few weeks prior!!!!!!! and... they had forgotten about the MSDs. So, they finally came back down on price to be 'close' to my original at $33,162.20 ("only" $1400 more). But then tried to pressure me into coming in and buying it right away, without the MSD's that I had been requesting for ALMOST TWO MONTHS. I was told that they were now trying to add the option to their system (It is a check-box and field on the standard toyota financial services paperwork)... and asked if I could buy without it instead. Tired of giving up ground and compromising only in their direction, I discontinued my relationship with this stealership. Contrary to their response below, this dealership did nothing to remedy these issues.
