| - This was my 2nd visit to Bouchon and I absolutely love the food and service here. I started off with a steak tartare and it was decent. The steak was cut nicely but I thought it could have used a little more acid just to bring out the flavors. We also had the salmon rillete and escargot, which were amazing. The salmon rillete had flaky chunks of salmon and was bold in flavor. The escargot sat in a pool of garlic, shallots, and butter, and was topped with bite size puff pastries. It was simply delicious.
I had muscles in white wine, garlic, and saffron broth, and it was best tasking white wine and muscle dish I've ever had. Although the muscles were a bit small, the garlicky saffron wine broth made up for the lack of meat. Oh, and the frites.... my goodness! They were so good that I had to ask the waitress to take them away from me. Otherwise I would have finished them all the crispy-salty goodnes. They give a hefty portion of frites with each dish so be ware.
One more thing (and its going to be hard).... try not to fill up on that hot, crispy on the outside and chewy on the inside baguette they give you in the beginning. I always try not to eat too much, but I have yet to succeed.
