Every time I try to give this place another shot (I really miss the old Friends) I get more disappointed than the time before. First of all, they advertise that they are a sports bar yet I just walked in to watch the NCAA tournament and they said they aren't playing it because they are playing Drag Race. I mean, I love Ru as much as the next gay, but you're a SPORTS bar. Maybe play a game on like even just one of your 8 televisions.
Another bad experience was when I called ahead to see if they were playing the Detroit Lions game and they said they were. So my friends and I came in, started ordering a bunch of drinks and food. When the Detroit game came on they switched the big tv to the Cardinals game. Granted we are in Arizona but we were a group of at least 14 people, there were maybe 2 other patrons sitting at the bar. We got our checks and left. That place lost a lot of money and what could have been "regulars" that day.
My wife was dragging her feet on going back here based on all of the prior shitty experiences but I convinced her to go anyway. I think it's easy to say we won't be going back.
Food is a bit overpriced, drink specials aren't bad and it's a cute bar. But overall it's a bit of a cocky place with nothing really to boast about.
