Note: We did not actually skate here; we went to watch derby.
The Romp n' Roll itself reminds me of high school. In fact, I'm fairly sure that it has not been renovated since I was in high school (the 1990s). It's a flat track for derby or a flat floor for general skating. It's about the size of most other skating places I've been to.
The point of this review is.... GO WATCH PITTSBURGH DERBY!!! It's so fun!
The Steel City Derby Demons (http://www.steelcityderbydemons.com) are awesome fun for the whole family. My 4-year-old was excited and mesmerized even though she had no idea what was going on. She loved high-fiving the players and watching the action. Tickets are $10 for adults but children under 11 are free so it's very affordable!
And... if that's not enough... the Pittsburgh team is goooooood. When we went, they beat DC 415 to 87. The Pittsburgh team ranks in the top 30 in the world so you're in for some exciting action.
