  • I have been renting properties for many years but this was me first property in Vegas and I have never had a horrible experience like I have had with Powerhouse. To begin, I live with 3 other working professionals. There are 4 people living in a 4 bedroom house. When we signed our lease, our agent Kim, told us for the 1st time that there was no street parking in our neighborhood. We were all moving to Vegas for the first time, we were not aware of all the HOAs in Vegas so this may have been something we should have asked but not telling us till we had already handed over our money was shady. Kim tells us not to worry, we can get a visitors pass for guestd and we "are pretty young girls. Use that. A neighbor will let you park in their driveway." We get into our house and find that it has not been cleaned like we were told. Crayons melted in the dryer, dead bugs on the floors, and one bathroom cabinet still had toiletries from the previous tenant. Kim tells us to make a list of everything and someone will be there to fix it soon. Flash forward 2 weeks, an exterminator comes, informs us we have a bug infestation. He turns the report into Powerhouse suggesting that he comes to spray 3 more times. We call Kim to notify her as well. She says "I walked that house myself and I never saw a single bug." Therefore the exterminator never returned and we spent 3 months killing roaches and scorpions ourselves. And that list of things that needed cleaned or fixed was never taken care of. Kim told me once that I should call the Powerhouse handyman if I wanted them fixed (not my job). But I called and texted. He never returned any calls or texts. The parking. We have spent 10 months battling this situation. We are all teachers, none of us work at the same school, we all leave and come home at different times and if we have a guest or something we had park 5 cars in the driveway. We never got a guest parking pass, we got in trouble with the HOA numerous times because we would illegally park to try to fit all the vehicles. I contacted the HOA myself to get a copy of the rules so we would stop breaking them. Powerhouse did help with the HOA problems but never got it resolved. As for "using" the fact we were young girls, all our neighbors park in their driveway too. Finally we started parking cars at a near by hotel over night because we just could not handle moving all the cars every morning. Whenever we had a problem or situation arise we would always call or email Powerhouse, just like they told us to, and they never returned our calls or emails. We were told they never received any calls or their email system went down. We were excellent tenants. We played our rent early or on time every month. Once when I was turning in our money the secretray even told me that we were one of the few tenants they had that always paid on time, yet they treated us horribly. We will not be continuing our lease with Powerhouse when it expires in a month. Although we made errors on our end, they are a horrible company that tried very hard to screw us over because we were young. Hopefully this review will help someone who maybe renting in Vegas for the first time or someone who is tired of being screwed over. Powerhouse is not honest, they are not helpful, and they are just trying to make money off of you. Please be cautious when considering renting from them because it could be a very very long year......
