| - My friend and I made appointments to have our makeup done before dinner and Celine during our recent trip to Vegas. We scheduled our one-hour appointments for 4:00 in order to make our 6:00 dinner reservation at Cesar's and then 7:30 show.
We arrived at the salon right at 4:00 with our hair mostly done with the plan to go upstairs, steam our dresses, and get changed before leaving for dinner at 5:30. At 4:20 we were still waiting to be seen, so we asked the woman at the front desk when we could expect to begin our 4:00 appointments. She immediately went to check, and was told that it would be another five minutes. She offered us refreshments while we waited, and printed our show tickets for us to do what she could to help us get on our way as soon as possible after the appointment. Another 20 minutes went by and we finally got started at 4:40 and 4:45, separately. Apparently a technician had called out that morning and put their entire day behind, including a bridal party just before us, who decided to add false lashes at the last minute. Once we got started one of our technicians kept talking about how stressful the day had been, and how busy. I don't remember any particular apologies for the delay from the technicians - just complaints from one of them about how busy they had been.
Ultimately we had to cancel our dinner reservation and eat after Celine because we didn't finish our appointments until 5:50, and we still had to finish our hair and get dressed. If they had called us any time before 4:00 to let us know our appointment would be pushed back 30-45 minutes, we could have finished getting ready before showing up for makeup and could have been just 10 minutes late to dinner. The technicians were nice enough and we looked gorgeous (if not very much at all like the pictures we had brought), but it was all pretty stressful. They made it as right as they could with a 20% discount, which we requested, but I wouldn't recommend the spa and salon if you are on a schedule.
