| - My family and I came from out of town to visit for the week and were really excited to come here for the afternoon. Upon arriving, the staff was really accommodating and helped us almost immediately. We went through the sign-in process and were told that the wait would be about an hour, so we decided to have lunch while we waited for our bay to be ready. Upon entering the restaurant/bar downstairs, we noticed that there was no host stand which we thought was kind of odd for a larger place, but we proceeded to seat ourselves. It took our waitress only about 5 minutes to get to our table, but after she took our drink orders, she almost immediately forgot and came back with the wrong drinks. We gave her our lunch orders, and the main courses (only two out of our 4) came out before the appetizers.
She wasn't apologetic, but instead became critical of the kitchen and then began neglecting our table. We waited another 15-20 minutes for the rest of the food to come to the table, at which point, our bay was already past ready. We finally paid and went upstairs to golf. Our instructor was very polite and bubbly which definitely added to the experience. Golfing was really fun but the experience went downhill again as the service was slow. We ordered some donuts for us to eat while we golfed and they took an hour and fifteen minutes to get to our table, even after talking to the wait staff and them having notified us that they were almost ready 2 or 3 times. We finally got the manager involved and when we wanted to simply have the cost taken off of our bill, he said that would be a lengthy process so instead he offered to give us extra playing time. The staff upstairs WAS accommodating during the process, apologizing many times and checking on our table to give us updates, but this definitely lessened the experience. Why would a business that accommodates hundreds of people each day (if not more) not be able to get food out in under an hour? I may return if the management or service becomes a little better, but until then, I'll find something else to do when I come back to Charlotte.
