It had been a little while since last visit, and I was looking forward to Forequarter, but it did not make the grade this time. The wild mushroom dish was fantastic as always. Great great great! The cabbage wedge salad was a big miss. Grilled lukewarm and tough cabbage with a one-note flat dressing and under-seasoned. This salad could have really benefited from some seasoning and some kind of acid. I contemplated asking the bartender for some lemon wedges and salt/pepper to improve it. That would have improved it, but I don't think it would have saved it. The dumpling dish my wife ordered was described as a large plate. I guess if you call 3 dumplings that are approximately the size of a potsticker each a large plate then you will be fine with this. The veg and sauce/broth with it were good. But dumplings were not so special or laden with pricey ingredients (ricotta) that the portion should be so small. The whitefish was good, not great. We sat at the bar and the service was lacking. For the first bartender that saw us, it was like we were invisible. Lastly, and this is probably nitpicking, when I made the reservation with Resy I was asked if this was a special occasion. I noted it was my wife's birthday, and though I wasn't looking for freebies it would be nice if they would acknowledge it. They did not.
