  • We got a great deal through Priceline, so I didn't really choose this hotel. $40/ night for a 4-star hotel. Seems like a good deal, but this turned out not to be a 4-star hotel, in my opinion. Check in line was horrendous. Went to the Hilton Honors line, and when I got to the front (15 min), Elena said the line was only if you BOOKED thru Hilton Honors. But Elena was super nice and checked us in anyways. Three receptionists on the regular line, two on the VIP line, btw. Made the line go really slow. By the time I finished, the regular line was like to the elevators. Ridiculous. Thank god for Elena. Our room in the Paradise Tower was not so nice. Hallway was hot and muggy. And a maintenance guy was spraying some smelly cleanser on the carpet; made me gag. Wet spots on the dirty carpet in our room. Ew. Room was bare bones, but big. Closet was tiny. Just a desk and chair; no sitting area, despite plenty of space for some. The room could also use a small table or something. Oh, and I was very disappointed to find no fridge. At least they give you a couple bottles of water. Bathroom was okay, but felt a little old. You could tell that the hotel was old, but redone with new wallpaper, etc. The doorknobs were the old round 70s style knobs. Oh, and the free toiletries were TINY. I could have asked for more, but I didn't feel like dealing with that. Pool was the saving grace. Really nice large pool, with parts of it going under the building, which made it shady. Beach balls provided, so the kids could play. Temp was nice a cool. A little tough to find a lounge chair, but once we found one, we were able to get the ones next to us as people left. (it was 100 degrees out, so no one was staying too long.) I also like the free cookies. A little crumbly though, so my daughter accidently dropped half of hers on the floor. :(
