  • I haven't been to Cafe Boa in ages (I've been once for lunch and another time for drinks - both good experiences as I recall) and my girlfriends and I decided to give it a try for Sunday brunch - and we are generally glad we did! We arrived hungry, but a bit indecisive. I, personally, was a little surprised at the brunch menu and although everything we all ordered was delicious, I felt that the options offered could have been a little bit wider. I don't normally eat eggs, but the alternative to eggs for me was the high carbohydrate (and gluten laden) options like french toast. The sandwich options were NOT appealing at all. We all opted for egg dishes....I know the other girls enjoyed theirs (bennedict and omelette). I ordered the scrambled eggs with smoked salmon. Loved it! Although I wished there were a little something else on the side other than a very bland cucumber salad (my only boo!). Oh. And there didn't appear to be regular coffee - just espresso type of drinks. We ordered a cheese plate as a starter. Our server was spot on with the cheese recommendations and was able to explain the flavor and texture of each perfectly. They had a great selection of cheese and meat and so we enjoyed our appetizer. We also took advantage of a fabulous deal of a 1/2 price pitcher of sangria, which was yummy and plentiful, over the bottomless mimosas ($18/pp hardly seemed worth it by comparison - I kind of thought that price was a bit steep per person). The service overall was good...maybe a tiny slow, but not terribly so and not a deal breaker. The only thing I didn't love is that we were sat off to the side and all the way in the back - it was kind of dark and one of us had to have our back to the rest of the restaurant and face a wall - that was unappealing. There was plenty of seating, so not sure why our hostess chose that table. I'll definitely be back again - but maybe for a salad or dinner/lunch over brunch. :)
