  • I have used Kathy's Auto's services on two separate occassions. The first was to have my timing-belt replaced, which was due at 60,000 miles. The second was to have an estimate done on some power- steering issues that I was having, as well as some strange noises that my car made when I pressed down on the accelerator or brakes. Kathy's estimate was for $825.00. I was told that I need to have my entire braking system replaced, including the rotors, breakpads, drums, calipers etc. and the that I also needed to have the entire power-steering system replaced, including the power steering hose. The later claim tipped me off because I had just had the hose replaced less than a year ago...so why would I need a new hose? So I went out for a second opinion. The second mechanic told me that all of my troubles were caused by a single issue: the power-steering belt. For some reason it wasn't working properly. He replaced it for me and I haven't had any trouble with my car since then. The cost? $90.00! I am very concerned that Kathy's auto decided to try to take advantage of me because I am a young female who seems to know nothing about cars. I believe that they would do a good job if they believed you understood cars well. But if you don't, I would definitely go elsewhere.
