Overly hyped just a tad??
This hotel is upscale and fancy shmancy. We actually stayed on 7-7-07. Super bad idea! Everyone and their mom's were in town that weekend getting married and trying their luck at the slots.
The room was a decent size. One king bed and a step up was a couch with a bed underneath. It had two TVs. One across the couch and one across the bed. The bathroom was nice. Marble floors and surfaces.
We stayed here because we planned to party at Tao and we didn't really want to walk or cab it there. Tip: If you're staying there, go to the concierge desk and show them your room key. They'll give you VIP passes. If you're not staying there, just walk around the front lobby during the day. You're bound to find one of their promoters passing them out.
We were placed on the same floor with all the wedding parties. Saturday morning, we were disturbingly awoken by loud and boisterous people celebrating some person's wedding. We unexpectedly had to leave early on Saturday anyway, but I wanted to give the front desk a piece of my mind before we checked out. After ripping the lady a new one, she went back to get her manager. They offered to upgrade us to one of their top suites. DAMN! If we didn't have to leave early, we would've taken them up on their offer.
I still want to check out the wax museum and take a cruise on the gondola ride. Perfect location. In the midst of all the fun places and best joints to eat at.
