The day I heard Ed's was moving into Leslieville I literally jumped for joy! Their original location in the Beaches has been an east end staple for ages, but this new location puts delicious hand made ice cream within a 5 minute walk from my front door.
They feature a wide selection of hand made ice cream and gelato. All your favourite flavours are present as well as a few "local" specialties. With Mercury Cafe across the street it's great to see that they've partnered up to create a special Mercury Espresso Bean flavoured ice cream. The front of the shop is filled with a rainbow assortment of gelato that is as fun to look at as it is to taste.
Just like at the original location, Ed's features a front window view of their waffle irons and churns out fresh waffle cones that are to die for! Nothing beats walking in with the smell of fresh hot waffle cones in the air.
There's an abundance of seating as well as a selection of cottage style chairs out front so you can enjoy your gelato and ice cream while hanging with the neighbours and people watching.
Of note, they also offer great take home options with all their flavours being available in handy tub size container.
Be forewarned... the place isn't cheap, but considering you are getting locally produced handmade ice cream it's worth the slight premium over the big name franchise options.
Thanks for moving into Leslieville Ed!
