  • Wow, this has got to be one of the best date nights that I had in a long while. My boyfriend and I decided to celebrate our 1 year anniversary by going on a date doing what we love. Watching Movies and Eating!!! He's been wanting to see this movie for a while so we figured we'd enjoy the full experience that VIP had to offer. I called the theatre to find out if we could just walk in or had to pre-order our tickets. She said because it was a weeknight, most likely it won't be full so we could walk in, however on the weekends or opening night it's best to pre-order to make sure. I wanted to have time to take in the lounge so we got there about an hour before the show started. I loved that there was 2 separate line-ups and the VIP line-up was quick and you just by-pass the regular line. The cost per ticket was $19.99 but keep in mind the movie was also 3D. We took the escalator to the highest level of the theatre and noticed the "VIP" foyer where an attendant was waiting to take your tickets. There were regular theatres on the same level but the VIP experience is sectioned off. Once we walked in, we immediately were inside the lounge/bar area which looks like any downtown resto with candles, dimlights and firewalls. I had an 8 oz glass of wine which was only $9 while I looked over the menu. I was informed by the waiter that you can order and eat in the lounge or pre-order your food to have it delivered to your seat in the theatre. They recommended ordering 30 minutes before the show so they can deliver it before the show starts with no interruptions. I ordered the $14 burger w/ a Caesar salad, while my boyfriend had the Haddock Fish n' Chips. Both of our meals worked out to just under $30 before taxes. Our waiter (shout to Willy) brought us glasses with water, ice and fresh cut clean lemon. He also provided us with wetnaps, napkins, cutlery and mints. It was definitely restaurant service while seated in this spacious theatre with the comfiest leather dual seats. Yep, dual seating perfect for couples with movable arm rests in case you want to snuggle up a bit more. The chairs also had trays that pull out from each side of the dual seating so you can comfortably eat and drink. I really appreciated the specific wine holder area so that wine glasses don't topple over. The food was good! Again, restaurant quality and not like the crappy Outakes burger and fries you would get from the regular theatre for about the same price. It's also 19+ so there's no loud screaming children or annoying teenagers yelling with their friends. Definitely the best movie theatre experience I ever had and it's one of those places to hit when you want to watch a long movie and do dinner. A great "date night" spot!
