I noticed BJ's closed down and was replaced by Bourbon Street. Wasn't sure if they were open or not, but LJ texted me and said they were open for business. My first impression when i walked in was WOW!!
You are greeted with the sound of video games and sports. Lots and lots of sports on their enormous video wall. i thought i was sitting front row at a casino sportsbook. The setup is impressive. It was the perfect spot to watch the NBA finals game 1. I look forward to watching many more sporting events. Some of the entertainment include a pool table, several arcade games, a basketball hoop game, a football toss game, and a bunch of bartop video slots. You can earn tickets from games which you can then redeem for prizes up on the wall. Anything from beads with sports teams medals to shirts and mini helmets. I definitely saw some prizes that I really wanted.
The room is spacious and everything is spread out nicely. You won't feel cramped at all. I've been to this place dozens of times when it was BJ's and I never knew how large the space actually was. They opened it all up and it into one huge entertainment space.
The only thing that was a little odd to me was that there was no waitress. There is a food/drink service area where you go up to the cashier/bartender and place you food and drink order. I didn't want to keep going back to the counter and I spotted a bucket of 6 bud lights for $15 which I grabbed.
For those of you looking for happy hour, this place does not have a happy hour. But the beers are pretty cheap. As I mentioned earlier, 6 bud lights for $15 and a pint of bud light draft was $3. Pretty reasonable if you ask me.
I've eaten the muffaletta, gator nuggets, and pickle chips. The muffaletta was SUPER good! For $5, this beast was overflowing with meats. Such a good sandwich!! The gator nuggets were a first for me. It didn't taste like chicken, I rather found that it tasted like a firm flesh fish. Quite an interesting appetizer to say the least. The pickle chips were different, they were sweet and spicy. I found them to be rather tasty.
To sum it all up, the best way to describe this bar is it's a mini Dave & Busters. Hands down the best bar in the Southwest!! I know it is a bold statement, but I said it. Don't believe me? come in and see for yourself. There is a good chance I'll be in there with my eyes glued to their video wall.
