From the outside AA looks like one of those modern church-cities. You know, an over-sized joint large enough to land a jumbo jet in. OKay..AA isn't that big..but it's much bigger than the average bear (or brewery).
Inside, the space isn't quite as evident. There's a main bar area and a separate restaurant area on the first floor. Additional seating is available upstairs. We sat in the main bar area as it's kid friendly. After hiking Devil's Lake for 7+ miles, we were hungry and thirsty. I had a long drive home and could only allow a half glass so I went with the Contorter Porter. This was delicious and I badly wanted to inhale the thing, but take driving seriously, and we had two hours ahead of us. Turning my attention to food, my son and I both had the bacon cheeseburger. I ghosted the thing in double quick time given my hunger. Did the same with the mashed potatoes. As a side note, next to our table was a very cool photo of some Air Force planes that were sponsored by AA. Each pilot signed the photo and there's a letter of thanks to AA for their support. Ironically, on our way out of AA, we passed the airport and these same planes fired up their engines and took off right before our eyes. Just a cool moment, and unique timing I guess.
I'll look up AA again when I'm in the neighborhood.
Cheers!
