  • I always laugh when I read reviews about gyms and they talk about things like the locker room or parking or not having towels, etc. People, if you want some shitty fitness center where you can walk on the treadmill with your makeup on then go to the meat factory that is LA Fitness or LifeTime. THIS is a real gym! The funny thing about here is you would think that this would be a meat head paradise but honestly everyone has been courteous and delightful so far. So let's have a run down of the gym. Since I'm only in town for a short while, I paid for one month, which for the gym and bag access was 50 bucks, no putting a card on file, Sign a waiver, give some info, get a key tag, swipe and go. This is the home to the current UFC HW Champ and that greets you as you walk in the door. You'll notice upon walking in there are a bunch of chairs sitting in front of a huge open mat room. You also have 2 boxing rings, 2 MMA cages and tons of bags! From my understanding when you just purchase the fitness membership you can use everything except doing classes. I use the bags (and their gloves) regularly. On the opposite side of the gym you have every piece of equipment you could want. In the front room you have monkey bars, rings, a swinging bar, machines, medicine balls, a tire, turf, sleds, treadmills, kettle bells, foam rollers, etc....as you walk down the hall to the next room there are a few machines in the hall and a rack of fixed weight straight and ez bars....In the back room you'll find all your DB's and Barbells...2 squat racks, 1 smith machine, 2-3 lifting platforms w/ bumper plates, chains, etc.......Up front there is also a functional fitness room where they have things like TRX and other modalities, probably more for classes or trainers but you can use it if there is nothing going on....OH and I forgot they have stuff outside too! Strongman stones, a sandpit, prowlers, tires, bars...awesome! The only reason I didn't give this 5 stars is because I have to be non-biased and address the issues I did in the beginning. The locker rooms are tight, 2 showers, 1 toilet, 1 urinal but I just learned today that there are 2 locker rooms for guys. The lockers themselves are VERY thin so if you have a duffel, it won't fit. I have a tactical pack and it barely fits. Another issue, there are no water fountains in the gym but they do have vending machines (I just use the sink). They do have cleaning bottles and towels to wipe equipment...I rarely see anyone doing it (and it makes me want to punch them in the face)...They also have a guest wifi good for an hour each visit. If you're like me, the pros of having the things that you want far outweigh the cons. Go try it out!
