I don't fly United often but I learned a lot about them on this trip, mostly what they can't do for their customers.
Cleveland to O'Hare on Friday afternoon is a full flight so they can't accommodate all the carry on bags.
They can't find enough people to volunteer to check their bags thru to ORD.
They can't fit my bag and dozens of others on the flight.
They can't gate check our bags so they are there on the ramp when we deplane.
They can't check the bag thru to Seattle for me as my connecting flight is on Alaska.
They can't do anything to help me out when I explain the situation.
What they CAN do is check my bag and send it to baggage claim in Chicago.
What I can do is land in Chicago, go to baggage claim to retrieve what used to be my carry on, and then go thru security all over again.
For that, they can have the full extension middle finger salute, and accompanying single digit Yelp rating.
