  • What a nightmare. My husband and I are locals and decided to have a short staycation. After viewing several hotels we decided to go with the Hilton. We haven't been alone and w/o the kiddos in many years so we were really looking forward to some alone time! I booked online with Booking.com which was the beginning of our nightmare. We were immediately overcharged from that website and just to confirm and be sure that I was seeing the charges correctly I called the Hilton directly. A woman answered and let me know that she could see my reservation but could not let ne know what I was charged, as, she did not have access to that information. I considered cancelling our reservation alltogether but really it has been so dang long since we've had a break that I just said screw it. I decided to ask about the charges in person on the day of check in. Fast forward to check in day. We arrived and the gentlemen at the front desk was quick to inform me that when I called to inquire about the charges that the woman that told me she didn't have access to that info DID in Fact have access! He flipped the computer screen towards me and showed me the charges. The good news was that the Hilton hadn't overcharged me, rather, booking.com had. Fine. Moving on; I just wanted to get to the room. This is when I found out there would be an additional $100 deposit needed. Really?!?! I already gave you guys $160 for a crappy room. (The room details are coming.) The gentlemen took my debit card and ran it through. Denied! He says it didn't work. My husband asked him to run it for a lesser amount. Again, it didn't work. The guy tried running the card one more time. It worked. Finally! Done! We headed up to the room. It was not AT ALL what the pictures had shown. For $260 you'd think you'd get a room where the bed didn't sound like it's going to fall apart when you sit on it. The 3 times that the front desk guy "tried" charging my card for the room ALL worked. So, that's about $270 just for the deposit for the room. The next morning I informed the gentlemen that I had been charged and in fact the charges DID go through. His response: You need to get a hold of booking.com to find out why. What? No! You ran my card 3 times and it worked all 3 times. I asked him who I should speak to as well as I showed him the charges to my bank account and his next response was: Well, we only show the one charge. Okay. I'm just done. The hotel was stinky. The bed was creaky. The bathroom was tiny, the tub was tiny, nothing was like the pictures I had seen. Even the pool was different than what was advertised. My bank is working on refunding my money since the hotel is not. Please be careful when dealing with this place.
