  • I had looked on Yelp for reviews of microwave appliance repairs and my choices came down to two. I chose E & J Appliance Service Company as I was very impressed that the owner, Ernie, responded to the reviews written for his company. Scheduling was efficient and easy. I called on a Monday, and was able to receive service the next day. The part had to be ordered, so required another visit. I got a call on Wednesday, though, that the part had been received and could schedule a visit for the coming Friday. Unfortunately, this date was not workable for me, so we scheduled for the following Tuesday. Our microwave is attached to the wall oven making repairs difficult and costly. The whole oven and microwave must be removed. This was the second repair needed in two years. The first technician who came out, Mike, was on the early side of the 2-hour window given. Very professional, courteous and helpful in answering my questions about the microwave repair. I recognized Ernie from Yelp when he arrived on Tuesday. I like that the company gives a call prior to coming out. I actually missed his call, but was able to call back within minutes. My window for repair was from 9-11- Ernie arrived around 9:30. (For once we were on the early side for repairs!) It was a tough repair. The unit was stuck in that wall but good, yet Ernie persevered and was able to make the repair in about 1 1/2 hours. He also had to turn off power, and since our circuit box is not marked had to make a couple of trials to get the right setting. He marked the box for us which is a help. Ernie confirmed that we can eventually remove the microwave from the wall oven; have a cabinet built above the oven to house a new microwave, as the cost of repairs really isn't justified with today's prices for a new microwave. I will never, ever use a different appliance repair company. I believe the price for this repair to be within reason (under $300), and Ernie stands by his work. Ernie was easy to talk with, kind, professional and was able to complete a complex repair.
