  • I chanced on Dan while browsing the web, found a kindred "ohana" spirit who spent quality time in the Islands. Took every knife i had in the house, including an old butcher knife, used for cutting up large 200 lb Ahi in Hawaii, that had a 1/4 inch chip out of the blade, he repaired the chip, sharpened the knife as well as the other 10 I had and they are all razor sharp. He has posted a video of the knives he did, showing the resulting edges. I was so impressed with his quality, craftsmanship and professionalism, that I commissioned him to make me a custom chef's knife. I had seen the art objects that he had created, both on-line in pictures, as well as some that he had at his shop. I told him that most of my 20 years of cherished memories in Hawaii, was on and under the ocean, riding sea turtles and fishing for mahi, Ahi and marlin and diving for lobster. I left the details up to him, knowing that what he would produce would surely exceed my expectations. Well he didn't disappoint, I will be posting photos of this culinary work of art, and these words don't do it justice. Thanks Dan and God Bless!!
