| - The man who took my order was just lovely--very courteous and welcoming. I wandered in at about 1:45pm, just because I was walking by and was hungry. There were no hours posted outside (actually, anywhere that I could see), so I didn't realize that they close at 2pm.
I ordered french toast and a woman shouted from the back that they weren't making any french toast for the day (she sounded put out that I'd ordered anything in the first place). I asked the man at the counter if it was too late, and apologized because I didn't realize they were closing (again, no hours posted). He said it was totally fine and would I like something else? So I ordered blueberry pancakes with real maple syrup. When they came out (and it was quickly, so that was great), they were fantastic. They tasted wonderful and they were light and fluffy. I was out of there by 2:05pm.
Still, I felt like I was intruding on that woman's day, and she did nothing to make me feel otherwise (even when I was finished and tried to bus my own plate she acted like I shouldn't even be asking her where to put it). I get that she was probably tired, and trying to clean up. Still, that kind of put a damper on an otherwise awesome meal.
All in all, I would've given Sophia's 5 stars, because the food was awesome, and the man at the counter, so nice. But that lady's attitude (and the fact that no hours are posted outside), were pretty irksome.
