We drove all the way from north Scottsdale to try the legendary peach cobbler and voted best in the southwest southern comfort food. Server was a nice man who immediately greeted us and got our drink order. Wail waiting for our order to be taken we looked around the restaurant and noticed countless awards and magazine articles about the wonderful southern comfort food and we thought we had gone to the right place. Sadly all three of us received meals that made our tummies turn. Poor Mrs white would turn in her gave if she new what had happened to her souther food dream. The chicken sandwich is two pieces of small wings that is over breaded, dry, greasy, mostly bone fried chicken put on some dry bread with a side of your choice. Who put chicken wings on stale bread and calls it a sandwich? And the fresh caught catfish is a breaded and deep-fried disaster. The Mac and cheese was okay but could have been microwaved longer and the sweet potato were tasty but very sweet. However the black eye peas were a gummy mess and the cornbread was very disappointing and covered in grease. Not to mention wail eating the employees were cleaning around us, sweeping dust up, cleaning with dirty mop water, and washing their hands in the sanitizer water gross. However we decided to still stay and try out the peach cobbler that was award winning. Hahaha it was the worst soupy mess we had had. The dough tasted like undercooked frozen dumpling that was then covered in can peach soup and heated in the microwave. After all that the total came out to 50 bucks and 10 to the server not a meal worth 10. This place might have been good at some time but the reviews are very outdated. It is sad to say that the Kool aid was the best part of the meal.
