Friday morning I had bunion surgery done at the Mountain Vista Medical Outpatient Surgical Center. The nurse (Tara) was professional, knowledgeable and great at getting me to relax (as much as one can when your going under the knife) for the surgery. She answered all my questions and when seeing that I was a bit stressed, brought me some really warm blankets to wrap around my shoulders as well as cover me. The anesthesiologist (David, CRMA) did such a great job that when I thought I was being asked to help move myself to the surgical bed, I found that the surgery had already been done and I was moving to the recovery bed! I do remember meeting the surgical nurse (Monika) before David did his magic and was impressed with her as well as grateful for her approach on the surgery. Dr. Allen (my surgeon) was able to get the job done in about 60 minutes. The foot hurts (witch we knew it would at this time) but with the boot on the foot to protect the surgical area, I am able to move around easily. Now, it is my job to follow Dr. Allen's instructions and let my foot heal properly. Thank you, everyone, for getting me through this.
