| - There are so many neighborhood sports bars (bars, generally) on the North Side, and the James is one of them.
We stopped by after a Sunday Pens game for dinner. It's a decent-sized place, with a bar area and more formal dining area - as formal as a casual spot like this can be. Although it was a Steelers playoff game, the crowd was sparse. Our server told us to expect an overly-friendly service since they were so not-busy. However, she didn't bother us a bit.
The drink list is 15 drafts, with a decent variety of standard and craft choices.
Food is a variety of tapas-style plates, burgers, and entrees, with specials. I ended up with fried pickles & their roasted Brussels sprouts - I like bitter foods, so sue me. Everything was fine all around. If I was in the neighborhood, I'd stop in for live music or a bite to eat.
