  • This is the first time we dine at this restaurant. The verdict? Disappointed. I'll explain. We stayed at the Paris so it was convenient and the name Gordon Ramsey do mean something so it was a easy choice to have our anniversary dinner there. I booked online via opentable and confirmed the reservation before arrival. Our reservation was at 8 pm but we changed it to 7:30 pm. The girls in the restaurant entrance seem indifferent. Not too friendly. We arrived just before 7:30 but was told it will be another 15 minutes till the table is ready. Not a problem. When we were seated we were told Dennis (server) and Kevin will wait on us. Both guys were friendly. Dennis was very attentive and patient. He explained to us the menu and recommended the tasting menu for $155 per person. My wife and I discussed and agreeed to order one tasting menu because Dennis did said it will be enough to share by two and we also ordered a few other items. We also had a glass of red wine each. Here's what we think of the food: - half dozen oyster. Awesome. Oysters tasted fresh, sweet and creamy. - bone marrow. Way too salty. Way too much salt and pepper. The tasting menu (did not do wine pairing): - amuse bouche scotch egg. Good. - heirloom tomatoes salad with hummus. Different but we like it. - seared scallops. The best item on the tasting menu. Cooked perfectly and well seasoned. - land & sea beef Wellington. The butter poached baby lobster tail was tasty but the beef Wellington lacks flavor. A bit bland even. We were disappointed with this dish especially this is supposed to be one of the chef's signature dish. - the sticky toffee pudding was good. Not too sweet. We enjoyed it We didn't finish the beef Wellington cause we were full and because it didn't taste that great we didn't pack it to go. The food overall was OK but not great. We were not impressed. Now comes the bill. It came out to over $450. Wait, what? Now let's see, the tasting menu was the most expensive at $155, two glasses of red wine at $20 each, half dozen oyster, bone marrow, how did all the add up to $450? Apparently, two tasting menus were ordered. I know we clearly said one tasting menu because we wanted to try other items. We decided not to bring this up with Dennis because he was very polite and attentive. I paid the bill anyway. The lesson here is to double check your order before the waiter leaves your table. Would I go back? Maybe to try their steak. That's what I should have ordered.
