  • ONLY Positives: The front desk was blandly nice, and the wait was only about 15 minutes. My husband and I brought our little one in this week for her first dental visit, and will not be returning. The dentist (or hygienist?-I'm not sure what her name or title was.) since she did not introduce herself, and just walked in and directed us to place her in the chair, and started cleaning our baby's teeth. She was also very rough (So much so that my husband asked her to lighten up on her hold on our baby's neck to which she replied "I'm not not grabbing her neck. THIS (and she tightened her already tight grip on our baby's neck) is grabbing her neck." My husband was seconds away from completely flipping out on her. She also seemed impatient with our questions and concerns. At the end of the cleaning, she put a cotton swab with a clear gel on it into our daughter's mouth. When I asked what it was, she said "Oh, just some vitamins." Upon leaving, when my husband asked the dentist/hygienist to tell us again what was on the swab she placed in our daughter's mouth, she said "Oh, just vitamins......and fluoride". We were stunned! We avoid fluoride for our little one, and would have declined that treatment had we been informed as to what it was BEFORE it was shoved into our baby's mouth (This would have been established, had the dentist/hygienist bothered to take 30 seconds to introduce herself and talk to us about the first visit process). And then she wasn't honest when I initially asked her what was on the swab! We are first time parents, so the first dental visit was stressful enough, but the person who tended to our child made it even more so. We have already been referred to a much better pediatric dentist in Summerlin, and will happily make the drive.
