| - I really wish I had better things to say about Frosty Roll since there aren't many other places that have Thai rolled ice cream. The only other local Thai rolled ice cream place (that I've found) knocked my socks off. But unfortunately, Frosty Roll just wasn't able to compete.
My boyfriend and I both ended up with the Nutty Canadian, since none of their other flavors seemed remotely interesting. Maybe I just came in with too high of expectations because the other place had plenty of fantastic flavors. Frosty Roll's were pretty generic and boring, and it was also evident in the quality of their ice cream.
I found their rolled ice cream to be utterly flavorless and just lacking overall. It was supposed to be maple and walnut ice cream, but there was barely a hint of maple. The walnut flavor came from walnut pieces themselves, which really didn't add anything. I could have probably gone without.
Their portion sizes here are much less of the other place, for almost the same price. They put two giant maple cookies on top as toppings, which I found to be completely unnecessary. You really shouldn't need to load on toppings, if your ice cream is actually any good. So, perhaps the toppings were meant to disguise the tasteless ice cream.
The employees were nice enough, but there were only two working, with only one actually making the rolled ice cream. Therefore, it took awhile for us to get our ice cream. And their AC wasn't working, so the inside was way hotter than outside. We ended up enjoying our ice cream out front.
I likely wouldn't return to this particular Thai rolled ice cream joint. They really just aren't very good. Hit up the other place, where you won't be disappointed.
