I've listened to Manheim Steamroller Christmas music for years. After this "concert" though, some of my favorite Christmas music of theirs has now been ruined.
This "concert" was terrible. I wanted to leave just a few minutes into the show. The musicians barely move. The drummer was the only one who put some theatrics into the performance. He needs to find another job and leave this dog behind. The laser lights force you to shut your eyes for extended periods of time as they are aimed right at your face. The video clips couldn't get any older or any more weird. There was a snow machine that hammered a few unlucky people in the front row (twice)...talk about adding insult to injury.
The whole show was just outdated, weird, and painful to watch. One star is really too high of a review for this show. Midway through the show, Chip Davis gets "beemed" up like Star Trek on the video screen and he started an extended infomercial on his new album.
There are only six members of the band. The others are local musicians.
And what was with all of the clips of the singer who performed at other concerts for them? Once again, weird!
After going (and unfortunately paying for these tickets), I wouldn't go to this show again if someway paid me to go. It's really that bad!
Advice to the public: Do yourself a favor and go to Tran Siberian. Now that's a good show.
Advice to the producers: Add theatrics to the performance and PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE throw away all of the video clips being played in the background. A college student with an iPhone (1st generation) could create a better video.
