| - I received a full set of mink lash extensions here in April 2017 in preparation for a two week long vacation I was taking. Both my sister in law and I drove from the east end all the way to Vaughan to get our lashes done because we got a great promo deal via Groupon and their work on Instagram looked pretty good.
Location: it was a little confusing to get here, but if you look for the TB Tax sign in the plaza, you're in the right spot. There is free parking available and it's a fairly large lot. The salon itself is up a pretty steep flight of stairs and there wasn't an elevator as far as I could tell. It is NOT baby stroller or wheel chair friendly.
The space itself is small, clean and pretty. I liked the little touches, like the glitz on the hand towel in the bathroom, and the huge fluffy pillow on the couches. There is no separate area for waiting and treatment, so if you're shy about being beautified with a possible audience, be warned. Mind you, when we visited, there was one other girl finishing up before us and we basically had the place to ourselves. This was great because I had to bring my 8 month old daughter with me and she is a giggly little thing that babbles quite loudly some times.
Nicole did both my lashes and my SIL's lashes, although she received an HD set for a 20$ upgrade fee. It was totally worth it if you have a lot of lashes because it looked fabulous on her. I have much shorter and sparser lashes so I stuck with a more natural look. The thing I loved was that I literally just said, "Hey, I just don't want to wear mascara on vacation and still look bright eyed in photos..." and she just knew what to do based on my lash length and eye shape. I also wear glasses so it was important that I didn't get cartoonishly long lashes that bumped my lenses. The lashes were soft and didn't feel stiff to the touch. I left with a little pink pouch with some aftercare instructions and a pink mascara wand to keep the lashes brushed.
The lashes held up pretty decently without any refills, even after about four weeks. I've always been pretty good about lash care, but this vacation had been pretty hectic so I hadn't brushed them as much as I normally would and they still looked full, albeit a bit tangled by the end of the day. I'd say they looked pretty good at up until about the six week mark, after which there were just too many lashes that had fallen off. This, however, far exceeded my expectations.
Overall, I'd recommend this place, particularly if you live in the area. I don't think I'd be returning regularly only because it's such a trek from my place, but Nicole did a great job and knows what she's doing when it comes to lash extensions.
